Volunteer Home Visitor – Southport,Sefton, Merseyside

Time Commitment: One morning or afternoon a week

We have a blind veteran who would welcome some company one morning or afternoon a week for tea and chat. Having someone pop in and engage in conversation is greatly appreciated when visual impairment restricts such activities as reading and getting out and about. Our veteran is interested in current affairs and cricket.  You will need good communication and listening skills, empathy and patience with people who are visually impaired. We will give you the necessary training, induction and support to be confident and enjoy your volunteering.  If you think you would enjoy conversation and spending some time with one of our veterans who have often lead very interesting lives and have fascinating stories to tell.

We will support you with training and an induction, out of pocket expenses and ongoing support so that you can get as much out of your visits as our member does.
