Dinner in the Dark

Three people at Dinner in the Dark
On the night

Our first Dinner in the Dark event was a huge success, selling out with 140 guests.

Thank you to everyone who attended on the night and supported the event!

Simon Weston, CBE, Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers and Blind Veterans UK Chief Executive Major General (Rtd) Nick Caplin CB at the event.

Dinner in the Dark was a spectacular experiential evening held at the prestigious Cavalry and Guards Club, Piccadilly on Thursday 10 March 2016. The event was sponsored by Specsavers and has so far raised an amazing £32,000 which will help us continue our vital work supporting blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women.

On the night guests including Jon Culshaw and Simon Weston, CBE enjoyed a drinks reception followed by a delicious three-course dinner in the dark testing their senses to the max. This immersive experience was enhanced by entertainment from vocal harmony trio Blake and Welsh concert soprano Gwawr Edwards.

Guests walked away with some amazing silent auction and raffle prizes including a week's stay at a luxury riad in Morocco, a yachting day on The Solent and an Apple Watch. Congratulations to all our raffle and silent auction winners and many thanks to all those who kindly donated prizes.

We would like to thank our sponsors Specsavers and the Cavalry and Guards Club for hosting this unique evening along with our performers. Special thanks also go to our wonderful committee who helped make this event such a success.
